The 100 Languages of Children workshop provides an interactive learning experience for teachers and education professional. This workshop supports, encourages and inspires the re-use of unique materials that are traditionally viewed as waste, but can be re-purposed as a sustainable resource for all learning environments.

Course Overview

The workshop runs for 2 hours and covers the following areas:

  • Tour of the REmida centre (if held at the centre)
  • Brief history and philosophy of REmida
  • Communicating the value of discarded materials
  • Hands on material experiences
  • Understanding The 100 Languages of Children
  • Learning experiences through materials
  • Learning environments
  • Connections to the curriculum frameworks
  • Group discussion; how materials to fit the context of your learning environment.

Pedagogy and Practise

REmida introduces new perspectives on pedagogy into your classroom practise; re-framing the child as a self-directed learner and supporting you to foster their natural curiosity and love of learning.

This workshop guides you through the process of enriching the learning environment using a sustainable reuse approach. Inspired by the philosophy from Reggio Emilio in Italy, REmida supports you to foster creativity, problem solving and collaborative learning in your classroom.
